June 2018
Interested and concerned organizations had been meeting in 2016 and 2017. In 2018 Mayor Niehaus formed a working group who decided to apply for faciliation assistance from the NPS Rivers Trails and Conservation Assistance program. This application was successful and our first meeting as a group was held in Ocrtober 2018.

A visioning and brainstorming meeting was held at the MVFD training room on Janary 17, 2019. THe government shutdown prevented our facilitator, and any federal employees other than BLM law enforcement from attending. The group had a productive meeting despite these setbacks.
February 2019
A smaller subgroup, the Collaborative Management Subcommittee, met in Feburary. Committee members include City of Moab, Grand County, BLM, and SITLA as these are the organizations who manage the land around the Powerdam area.
