This website was started in June 2019 to share information about planning efforts in Mill Creek Canyon in Moab. It will be updated and changed as community meetings happen and there is more information to provide. Thanks for checking in!
During September and October of 2020 the Mill Creek Community Collaborative encouraged the Moab community to participate in a survey to gather input to help inform the recommendations being developed.

The survey presented four different potential management options to recommend to the BLM, the City, the County and adjacent land owners ranging from continuing with current efforts to clean up after visitors, delineate trails and repair damage, to shifting parking and primary access to the Potato Salad Hill side of the creek, to building large parking areas between the creek and Sand Flats Road to accommodate large numbers of people. In addition a number of “a la carte” options were presented about Trails and Connections at the Powerdam, Parking and Vehicle Access at the Powerdam, Fees and Permits, Amenities and Infrastructure at the Powerdam, and Management of the Canyon Above the Powerdam.

Almost 400 people responded before the end of October with over ½ of them providing free form answers as well. The quantitative survey responses are shown below. Please visit the news and updates section of this page for a summary of the free form answers to the question "what did we miss?"
A working group of the MCCC is meeting several times a month to develop recommendations for the entire MCCC to review and then pass along to the various land management agencies and neighbors.

Each land management agency or neighbor will need to go through their own public process before final actions can be planned and implemented.
